Sr. Director, Total Rewards

Leader Vienna, Virginia

Description

About the role
The Senior Director of Total Rewards is responsible for the strategic design, execution, and evolution of the organization’s Total Rewards programs. This leader oversees all aspects of compensation and benefits, ensuring offerings are competitive, equitable, and aligned with both business priorities and the needs of our current and future workforce. Scope includes base pay, incentive and bonus programs, equity-based compensation, and a comprehensive portfolio of benefits and wellness programs.

This role is critical to shaping data-driven Total Rewards strategy and delivering thoughtful, market-competitive programs that support talent attraction, retention, and performance. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset paired with a hands-on approach, navigating complex compensation and benefits topics with rigor and practicality. Success in this role requires close collaboration with Finance, Legal, Operations, and external consultants to continuously refine Total Rewards initiatives and bring the organization’s Total Rewards philosophy to life. This role will report to the Vice President, People Experience Enablement.

This is a hybrid remote role, offering a flexible work arrangement out of either our Raleigh, NC or Vienna, VA offices, with an in-office requirement of two days per week.

  • Lead compensation analytics and market analyses using internal and external data to assess competitiveness, pay parity, and program effectiveness; identify issues and recommend data-driven solutions.
  • Manage and optimize compensation systems, tools, and platforms to support scalable and efficient Total Rewards processes.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with external consultants, benefits brokers, and third-party vendors to enhance program design and execution.
  • Support organizational growth and acquisitions by assessing existing Total Rewards programs, identifying integration opportunities, and developing scalable approaches for future acquisitions.
